OTECH Corporation is a leader in thermoplastic compounding and is one of the largest vinyl compounders in the Midwest USA.  OTECH develops, designs, and custom manufactures high-quality specialty PVC compounds, thermoplastic elastomers and alloys used in electrical wire and cable, footwear, housewares, roofing, agricultural parts, and automotive industries.

Challenge

OTECH Corporation was using several separate systems for accounting, manufacturing, quality control and R&D.  Managing these different systems was difficult and inefficient.  The company had outgrown these systems and were looking for a single integrated solution that could replace the prior systems they had relied on, while increasing efficiencies and data accuracy.

Solution

OTECH selected a solution that consisted of Sage X3 and Procession.   Since Procession works as modules that are added to Sage X3, this provided a single integrated solution.  Procession was selected because it provided many of the critical features that OTECH required.   These critical features included quality control and R&D formula management.    Sage X3 was selected because of its advanced accounting, manufacturing and reporting functionality.

Results

Accounting, manufacturing, quality control and R&D are now centralized into a single software application, boosting productivity and eliminating duplicate efforts.  Thanks to the successful implementation at OTECH, OTECH is now implementing the same solution at their subsidiary.

Using Procession and Sage Enterprise Management has improved our efficiency tremendously. With everything from product information, formulations, and certificates of analysis all in one system, our quality control system flows seamlessly and with visibility to all who need it. Elé had purchased Sage X3, but was still managing quality control, formulas and hazardous material bill of ladings outside of Sage X3.  The company was looking for a single integrated solution that would allow them to efficiently manage each of these areas within their Sage X3 system.

Procession Software has helped us be more competitive by enabling us to better meet our customer’s chemical specifications. The comprehensive quality management system allows us to print and archive customizable Certificates of Analysis that are critical to our industry. When Tobacco Technology (TTI) went live on Sage X3 in 2015, they did so while still managing parts of their business with external systems.  This caused inefficiencies and double entry in the areas of quality control and formula management.

Procession has allowed Tobacco Technology to replace several external systems.   The data for quality control, formulation and regulatory control now reside within a single database within Sage X3.  By having a single integrated solution with Sage X3 and Procession, the company has been able to increase efficiencies by reducing double-entry and simplifying the procedures for creating new products within Sage X3.
